Periodontal Laser Therapy
It is used as an adjunctive therapy to scaling (cleanings) to assist in the reduction of bacterial infection within the periodontal pocket (gum tissue).
This provides the gums and bone a healthy environment to allow the gums to heal. The procedure consists of several appointments approximately 1-7 days apart, at which time the teeth are thoroughly cleaned, and then the laser light is placed in the gum to reduce bacteria levels. Patients with these types of infections can quickly improve their periodontal health with little or no discomfort.
